Copley Place is an enclosed shopping mall located in the Back Bay section of Boston, Massachusetts. It features 200 specialty stores and 16 restaurants, plus Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Robb & Stucky Interiors and Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza. Shopping hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

We’re the suburbs. We love our malls—and we love them big. But these labyrinthine behemoths are often impossible to navigate—good luck finding a directory!—and the parking lots are even worse.
Enter FastMall, the free iPhone app that will help you zero in on the best route to your favorite store, your car, or the bathroom, with its interactive maps. Once downloaded, it even works when your cell signal goes kaput, as it often does in the mall (Palisades Center, we’re looking at you). “This is turn-by-turn navigation without using GPS,” says Sam Feuer, FastMall’s CEO. “There’s nothing else in the world that’s like it.”
FastMall’s 1,650 maps include The Westchester, the Palisades Center, the Cross County Shopping Center, and even Woodbury Commons. Just tap where you are and where you want to go, and it’ll calculate for you the fastest path (avoiding escalators for you if you’re stroller-bound). Gotta go? Just shake your phone to find icons for the nearest bathroom. (You might already be shaking anyway.) And, when you pull into the lose-yourself lots, the app will make note of your car’s position and let you record a message to remind you where you parked. Keep an eye out for future features, including an app for the Droid, deals for Foursquare-style “check ins,” and interactive maps of other places like hospitals or amusement parks.

SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, NC is a Charlotte landmark. Originally developed in 1970, it is also one of the largest shopping malls in the region. Anchored by Nordstrom, Belk, Dillard’s, Macy’s and Neiman Marcus, SouthPark offers stores ranging from luxury fashion such as Burberry and Louis Vuitton to casual staples such as J. Crew and Tommy Bahama. Five full-service restaurants, a Food court, Symphony Park and a beautiful outdoor amphitheater make the area a popular dining and entertainment destination. Symphony Park at SouthPark is the summer home for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra with a free concert series every Sunday during June. It is also home to the Holiday Tree Lighting, the official kick-off to the holiday season in south Charlotte.
Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach, SC features Bed Bath & Beyond, Belk, BooksAMillion, Cinemark Theatres (screens), Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Old Navy, Sears and over 170 stores.
Eldon Square in Newcastle, UK is one of the largest shopping centers in the UK. There are so many stores, most notably, Fenwick, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, and Boots. The large department stores are lavish, having multiple floors, and each containing extras like cafes and eateries. The departments are extensive–not your run of the mill Sears or JC Penney. Really, each store is deserving of its own review–each having so much to offer customers.
Many of the other stores in the complex are more specialized toward specific areas of fashion or personal care.
Serviced by its own bus station, the Haymarket Bus Station, several bus stops nearby, and the metro via Monument and Haymarket Stations, the Eldon Square Shopping center anchors the commercialized Northumberland Street/Monument area. It’s within walking distance of both Newcastle University and Northumbria University. It’s easy to get to, and hard to miss!
